charmion had fussed over a bundle of food long enough. it had become his sole duty to know what his Lord Gucci wanted and how he wanted it. if anyone else dared to think of serving such pleasantries to his Lord, he fussed them away too. he would not be perceived as a slacker, letting other fellahin tend to his House.
but in brief silent moments between tasks for Lord Gucci, charmion realized there were other things he could do to be of help here. like attending the bathing pools! dried petals sprinkled along the surface, gentle ripples along the water. anything old that had reached the tops of the water was removed.
all the while he kept two tall ears upright to catch any sound...
