Floki didn't get out much more than an exuberant yeah before the speckled Alpha male arrived. Wildfire bowed her head, letting her silky black tail drop. For an instant, his words caused her to stiffen. What if there wasn't room for her? What if Charon had decided to tighten up the joining requirements? It slowly dawned on her that he was only teasing, though, and she let out a somewhat hollow laugh to indicate that she had gotten the joke.

Although he was only kidding, Wildfire tried to swallow the lump in her throat and steady her voice as she replied, "Pretty sure. I'll be a proper adult in less than a month too." She tried not to think about the fact that she wouldn't come of age alongside Nightjar and Raven. "Outrider, Warrior and Naturalist reporting for duty," she quipped, managing a bit of a threadbare smile for her new leader. He already knew these things about her, though Wildfire was careful to sort them in the order of her preference and ability.

She had thought herself a shoe-in but everything had changed today. Her confidence was shaken and she felt a tremor of anxiety that prompted Wildfire to ask, "So, have I made the cut? Am I a Moonspearian now?" It sounded like a breed of extraterrestrial space explorer or something and some of the tension left her body as Wildfire genuinely chuckled at herself.
