Blackwater Islands so a consort and a harlot walk into a bar

Whip had gone to the gathering with the faint glimmer of hope that he would see one of the last surviving members of his family, Wildfire. Upon arriving to the meeting point however, Whip found the hope of seeing his sister squandered. She had not been there -- instead, they had been greeted by her mate. Their leader, Heda. Initially, Whip's dissapointment was paramount, blossoming into a familiar sadness that felt mostly numb. It was clear to see that the Mothers intended for him to remain seperated from all blood relations, and if it was the will of the Mothers, so be it.

Upon return, Whip took to the shore to seek guidance from the Mothers despite his lowly status as a mere drudge. He tried to divine wisdom from the waves as Akantha and the others had, but the Mothers did not speak to one like Whip. With his forepaws dipped beneath the water, Whip shut his eyes and listened. There was only silence, peppered with the whisper of the wind over a placid sea.

With no answer on the other end, Whip turned away from the sea and looked inland. His gaze caught Kalika and Whip fell still.
