Whip has some SERIOUS mommy issues... so, things could get weird.

Kalika gave answers readily, which Whip appreciated. However, the answers she provided did little to dull the sharp pain of loss. She offered herself for comfort in a way that was uncharacteristic of the Nereids, but Whip craved the emotional stability she offered though contact. So much so that he did not think to wonder if he was overstepping any boundaries. He buried his face in the scruff of the Siren's neck and he closed his eyes tight. He breathed in deep. She smelled of salt.

She kissed his forehead and it reminded Whip of his mother's touch -- or rather, his father (who had been the true nurturing presence in Whip's life before everything went to shit in a handbasket). Her words were both soft and reassuring. Whip found himself falling fast in the comfort she provided.

"And how should I serve?" he asked, pulling away briefly to look upon Kalika's face with earnest.
