Greatwater Lake phone ringing, never outgoing

If he had been resisting his rescue, Midar barely noticed it between fighting his own body's response to the icy assault of the water and trying desperately to get Alarian and himself from the lake. That was probably for the best because he certainly didn't need anymore reasons to be angry with the scarred male. 

He watched helplessly while Alarian coughed the water from his lungs, thinking that it couldn't be good for him in his already weakened state. He shook the water from his raven coat as his companion began to speak. Midar followed the gesture the other man made towards the water and as he spoke the word him, his ears flattened, and he had to swallow against the force of his rage. He means nothing to me the beast said, tone as cold as the water currently stealing the stranger's life. Why would I risk my life to save him? Alarian was his and the beast needed him even if he hadn't fully admitted the latter to himself yet; there was no way he was going back in the frozen lake to save some nobody, especially when he wasn't even sure why Alarian had been here with him in the first place. If the stranger was seeking companionship from the scarred man, then he'd probably prefer to die in the frigid water; the beast was sure to have a much more painful death planned for him.
