backdated, set between her encounter with Vangard and her return to Whitefish River, tags for reference :)
She was torn.
Pulled between two women, trapped in one body. Lingering in this state of absence, of lost fragments would only send her further into the abyss within. She could linger, lose herself trying to find Liri or she could put it in the past and discover who she was now.
Her mind was logical, calling for her to bury it and Liri - to return to the River and immerse herself in the pack @Evergreen was building, repay him for saving her by being the best god-damned Physician this world had ever seen.
But her heart, or what remained of it, cried that she was heading the wrong way - to turn back to the Vale, to @Vangard. To find the girl he had loved somewhere inside.
Try as she might, she could find no trace of Liri.
It would have been unfair, cruel even, to ask him to stay. To stand by her side and face the emptiness with his hand in hers, to fall in love with whoever she became all over again. She would not, could not, ask it of him.
Let it go; let her go.
So she did. She let Liri go. She let the pain and the fear dissipate. She let Vangard go.
She turned south rather than north, as she reached the foot of the mountains knowing she was in no fit state to be around her new pack. She would return, of course, after she'd pieced herself back together.
She cast one last gaze upon the 'Spire, dredging up all she had learned of who she was there - leader, Viking, rebel.
Let it go.
She turned back, started south, with only one of Liri's titles left to claim: survivor.
"i'll keep you here when I lose my mind."
