His trip to Trigeda had been a short one, a journey spurred by a need to relay news to what as left of his family. It'd been bittersweet to reunite with his father again: good to share his company once more, though it occured to Dacio how swiftly the months apart had aged him. He did not dwell on this concern during his time among the Trikru, though it remained at the forefront of his mind as he made his return to the place of his birth.
An attempt to claim the Grotto had failed miserably, having been unable to source enough wolves to support his cause and the bear's attack on Kiwi's mountain did not make things any easier. His breaking point was picking up on Dalia's scent around Rusalka borders, which was enough to deter him for a time as he wondered how she could betray him this way. Though disappointed, it did not mean he'd given up. Someday he'd build his army and storm the sound, and it did not matter if Dalia or her offspring got in his way - she'd already been granted a chance to make amends for abandoning Drageda, and he was not prepared to offer another.
Dacio prowled the fields upon his return, primarily looking for @Opalia so that they may regroup, but he was curious to see how Rusalka had faired in his absence. The ashen yearling observed from a distance where he'd settled, hidden among the tall grasses, watching the forest's edge for any sign of a patrol when a pallid figure strode from between the redwoods. He did not recall such a pale-furred wolf at the battle on Dragoncrest, though he did notice that the other male's steps were tentative. He seemed particularly cautious and, as he lay low and seethed in silence, Dacio supposed he was right to be.
