Sarah listened to Maiira talk, did not take notice of the odd manner of her speech, deemed her weird and suspicious right away (nothing personal - that was just the way she thought about most other people; it was for practical reasons - if you did not have high expectations, you could not be disappointed) and snorted, when the speech finished with - "people do not like half-breeds".

"That is crap," she told her curtly and it was not clear, whether her statement referred to the whole story or separate parts of it. She also did not burden her with making any clarifications. Instead she leaned down to gnaw on the hide again and seemed to be done with talking for the time being.
