Of course Clarence had tended to the woman, he was too kind to do otherwise but logic was currently swayed by emotion and he hadn't thought of that. There wasn't much of a response to Clarence's shouting, for once managing to stifle the flinch though there was a twitching of his lips as he also battled the impulse to bite at the man.
