Speedy knew she couldn't expect them to stay with her forever. But was that really too much to ask? Seriously, though, she understood the need to wander; she had done the same thing at their age. Speedy had left her family and come here where she knew no one, so she couldn't exactly expect any different from her children, although she hoped they stayed closer than she had. She nodded. And her last words had the healer settle down near the other woman, as best as she could with her bulging sides, so that she could offer her comfort with her presence.
