The absence of Serem and Santiago had not been noticed but Valour found himself feeling little else but bitterness for the old General and anger at Santiago for abandoning Clarence. There was a long pause before he gave a gentle smile and wagged his tail "this sucks but we did alright I think. Ended better than what it was" he sounded a bit choked but otherwise he held strong searching the face of one of his four only friends. "Are you going to be alright?" he asked holding back the question of where he'd go. Everyone needed time to dwell on what was lost...he supposed he was lucky for the opportunity to be taken as freedom.
