It still did not feel right to be cooped up in one place, and she was itching to roam. Thankful that she held Lumiya's blessing to do just that, Stryx had left the fortitude of the Willows behind in favor of the wilderness surrounding the mountains. There was a metallic scent to the air - very thin, easily missed - which was not present within the court she had pledged herself to.

She missed the open road so deeply. The feeling of pine needles crushed beneath her feet, the salt-laden air drifting lazily to her nose from further north, even the strength of summer's thick heat had escaped her. She sought all of this out as she forayed onward, nosing at patches of dry grass or tugging at nettles caught in her coat; there was always something. Perhaps she could retrieve some greens for use among the fey wolves.

Accustomed to roaming without a leash, Stryx did not notice the late hour until it was nearly pitch black around her; the air was calm, just starting to cool for the night, and her eyes were sore from scrutinizing the soil along her path. She looked up to a gap in the trees to spy the sky, and saw only dark bands of (presumably) clouds; no stars tonight. She huffs, and turns towards the path that led her here - facing towards the hillside where Lumiya and her people waited. She was tempted to ignore the nagging sensation of her promise.
