slowly, but surely, mulberry was getting used to her legs. her steps weren't wobbly anymore, although still clumsy. her eyesight was getting better, she could hear now though the words that arlette and derg used were little more than gibberish to her. she is napping when arlette nudges her. she wakes up, groggy but stretches, yawning widely even as turmeric and thyme prance and wrestle 'round her. one of them even bites her ear — as to which she lets out a squeal of loud protest; whether it was acknowledged or minded was another matter entirely.

when arlette leaves, mulberry shakes off thyme and prances after arlette, pausing as she steps outside the den for the first time; squinting against the sunlight. there is a plethora of sounds no longer muffled by the birthing den and she visibly hesitates before stepping out and sniffing cautiously at all the new smells.
