Alduin saw the tall eared, midnight wolf run away at the ritual. Despite his dreary existence and quiet mannerisms, Alduin watches everything. Hardly anything gets past him. This includes the movements of everyone he’s been around for the last few days. He’s been watching. 

This is his opportunity. An opportunity to show his shadow who really deserves to be beside her. Not Morgana, not some nervous, blue eyed pup like Ingram, but someone who deserves it — someone who’s bled for the life he’s lived and will continue to do so.

So he moves out, jealousy and victory close to his heart as he does so. He follows his scent through the island until he reaches its sandy ending. He looks off to the shore opposite him — the mainland. He sees dark form on the beach and just like that he’s off. Like a hellhound that’s let loose, he slithers into the disastrously frigid waters right after him. 

He gets there in a timely manner, rising from the depths of the sea like Poseidon himself. His dark form looks deadly — demonic — as he lifts himself from the tides and onto the sinking texture of the sand. Coat soaked through and a malicious gleam in his crazed eyes, he moves towards the other wolf. At first he starts at a quick walk, but his pace increases until he’s going from a languid gallop to a full blown sprint.

He has one thing in his distant, bloody eyes and that’s death. He would hardly give the other a warning before slamming into him. Dangerous jaws searching and hungry for a pound of flesh, but he will not kill him here on this beach — no, he will save that until he is in front of his shadow. She deserves a show.
