dice rolled a 4

Ash had fought before, but not a wolf like this one. She was used to being the small one, the agile one, who could put-maneuver larger, slower opponents. Her strength was her speed, but now she was pitted against one similarly sized and nimble, and she barely managed to make an impact at all with her first lunge.

The last thing she would have expected was for the pale wolf to leap into the air, so she was left with her mouth gaping slightly in surprise. She side-stepped to avoid being landed on, but caught a swift, hard thud of the woman’s heels to her rib cage. She stumbled sideways and expelled air with a shrill, surprised bark.

She dove with jaws snapping at the closest thing she could grab- which was the wolf’s pale, plumed tail. Not a fatal move at all, but Ash wasn’t fighting to kill- she merely needed to ward the female off for long enough that Abel could get away.
