Ulrich felt that, even as gentle as he had been, he had still hurt her. He cringed internally, cursing himself. He should've said he loved her too, right away, immediately, even if it was a lie. He sighed quietly and walked into the forest with her, head swinging from side to side as he tried to find some animal den to dig out further into a place where they could rest. Now that the... confession was over, and they were moving again, he began, once more, to shiver with cold. What if he died of it before he even gave Adylaide a proper response? He could not leave her like that. He had to live. And they had to stay safe through the winter.
