She had never traveled so far, searching every coastline and cliffs for any sign of Sobeille. Perhaps the wayward pup had gone inland. Perhaps she had returned to Sapphique. Astera refused to assume the worst.
She reached a beach which made home to several tide pools. Peering into one, an octopus caught her eye. Lunging at the eight legged creature, she snapped inside the water, attempting to grab it.
Inked! Darkness swirled around in the shallow pool, irritating her eyes. Astera sneezed several times, drops of ink flying of her stained muzzle.
