Samirseti’s gaze shifted toward her, lingering for a moment longer than courtesy required. There was something in the way she moved—purposeful, yet unsteady.
He observed in silence, his expression remaining carefully neutral. She had the kind of beauty that commanded attention, but it was her manner, not her appearance, that caught him.
Samir let out a soft snort, the faintest flick of his tail betraying his amusement.
He studied her for another moment, then rose with quiet, deliberate grace. His steps were steady, the soft pad of his paws making little noise as he approached. The sun cast faint shadows across his golden-black pelt. When he was close enough to be acknowledged, he let out a low rumble of greeting.
“The sea does not beg the river to flow into its depths. It simply waits, and the river obeys its nature.” A vague riddle upon the tongue. There was an almost sinister sneer upon his roguishly handsome face as he made to circle the woman, slowly.
