Dragoncrest Cliffs skipping like a stone

"Shadess, you be de keeper of de pink pearl. your spirit be kin', your love generous. your heart be pure. de size say you are loyal to who you be among us. use t'ese t'ings to help t'ose around you. but you willnae let anyone mistake a gentle spirit for a weak spine."

These were the words spoken by her mother, when during the pearl ceremony, Shadess had opened a clam to reveal a tiny, pale pink pearl. 

Pure of heart, kind, gentle spirit... Could it be possible that she had been gifted the wrong pearl? Could it be possible the lwa were wrong? 

When her sister commanded and Shadess lunged, there was little kindness in her heart as she sought the face and neck of the man curled on the ground before their feet.
