All Welcome
it has been a long time since she has been anywhere near this land, or anywhere near her own people for that matter. the time away has done her well. trigeda welcomed her openly (as it had become a bastion for her people) and yet, she did not feel at-home there. it had been a struggle to adjust and to re-commit herself to the life of a student to their ways; in leaving that behind those many months ago, seregryn had freed herself. she still had strong desires for more, for power, for fealty, but it seemed as if the road to her greatness was often impeded by the influence of her own people. she did away with that by leaving them before the distraction became unbearable.
and then, she was here. again. the winter winds bit at her plush coat as she roamed in search of drageda, wondering if she was strong enough for thuringwethil this time - or if this was merely her final hurrah before giving in to a personal obsoletion that had been steadily building. she would not go down without a fight (this was seregryn we were talking about); however, the girl -- no, the woman -- she knew that anything worth living for was also worth the struggle to obtain it.
perhaps time had tempered her spirit. wisened her mind.
as she came upon the outskirts of the mountain-home, caught the scent of the heda among the pines, seregryn put her mist-thin doubts aside and lifted her skull, singing praises to her queen as she requested an audience. of course, things would not be so easy - the scent she had found had not been a borderline, but a gathering point. thuringwethil had already departed the mountain for reasons unknown and thus, seregryn would be left waiting.
