Maybe she had been a little bit rougher than necessarily intended without her having a good grasp on what she could even do, but when she got what she felt she wanted, satisfaction warmed her--even if she could only interpret it vaguely. Within her tiny scope of things, it was more than enough. His tumble sated her sourness plenty, and the grumpy girl didn't pursue anything more than that because of it. Her backing off left him to do as he desired, she hoped: either stay that way or not, and join her in some way she wasn't feeling offended about. She huffed at him, though, hoping he would think twice about nabbing her tail next time especially.

She grumbled some low puppy grunts and turned her back to him so she could try to plod away again, this time hopefully to greater success now that she didn't aim towards the light of the entrance. Instead, she slowly, but steadily, started to wander back towards closer to their mother's side, leaving her brother to come too or not. She had made up her mind.
