Here was the land Tonravik first claimed, taking it by force. There was no mistaking it, now—it had been ravaged and ruined by nature, Ikkalrok noted, as she moved along a portion of the territories circular spine. Stagnant water kept the territory captive; beneath her was a world once rampant with wildlife. Now, there was nothing.

Her interest in the territory had only been born of her curiosity of its advantages. But without any imagination to speak of, Ikkalrok only saw this place for what it presently was: a wasteland. Good, perhaps, only to push an enemy down into its yawning mouth; exhaustion, first, and then they would drown. There was no escape from this pit, its rocky walls a deadly trap.

What satisfaction was to be had in providing ones end in such a way? Ikkalrok could not see it. But death was death, and Ikkalrok did not much care for how it was accomplished when it needed to be done.

Ikkalrok turned away and began to descend; with nothing for them here, there was no need to survey the place any longer.
