For a time it seemed she would slip into silence, wary gaze searching endlessly for some threat even she couldn't name.

A slight twitch of her feathery ears, an indication that she had heard, met his question. The wolfdog's speckled head canted to the right to take in the protector she'd found. The rain beat down upon the stone dwelling, as if to express its rage that it had been unable to claim the girl's life.
A weary, wry grin - humorless truly - lifted her lips ever so slightly. "Always," she murmured, her ivory optics obscured by the lids that closed over them. At her chest, the fisher curled - dozing contentedly.
Exhausted, the witch fell into a dreamless sleep under the careful watch of the titan.
