Kai was much smaller than the titan, which meant that the corvid was out of her reach. 

Unable to assist, the naiad's purple muzzle snaked out and her jaws closed around the carcass. She gave it a yank, freeing it from the ground and with a muffled call to Cry began to hurriedly pull it backwards. 

While the raven was occupied, she would secure their meal and hopefully the bird would move on. Once the remains had been moved, Kai hunched over it protectively to keep Valac away from it - lips peeled back as she snarled at the bird angrily for hurting her friend. 
"Will you fix me up? Can you show me hope?"
