Artaax nearly shivered as he heard her respond, closer than before but still too far for his liking. He yearned to close the distance, but he remained still, letting her come to him. It wasn’t so terrible, really. He loved the sound of her voice, and he loved the sly way she teased him. There was a fire in her that he deeply appreciated, that he lusted for. He wanted to call her his in a way he’d never wanted anything before.

But he could wait.

”How do your dreams end,” Artaax asked, unable to keep the longing from his voice. He tilted his head slightly towards where he thought she was, hoping the gesture might beckon her forward.
