She grinned up at him, pressing herself closer to him. She was indeed rather cold. “I was patrolling,” she replied simply, “the borders can’t be left even if it is freezing.” Her tail waved softly, trying to ignite some feelings in its tip. Perhaps she should’ve snuggled with her mate in the first place. 

At his stumbling, she beamed, reaching to place another kiss on his cheek. He was so careful with his words, she supposed he wanted to be this grand masculine figure. Not that she cared, she loved him for being him. “I’d invite you to my den but,” phrasing her earlier thought, ”I doubt we’d both fit.” She smiled softly, running her muzzle down his neck, warming her nose in the process. 
She bumped him with her shoulder, wanting to go somewhere — as long as it was warm and had Laroche, she didn’t care.
