Gannet continued to hide, but Ashlar seemed to have been sidetracked by Ibis's appearance. Noting that the pup hadn't begun looking yet, he crawled forward, conscientiously making some noise as he did so and smiling as he glanced at Ibis. Doubtless she'd hear and see him, but Ashlar was shorter and hopefully wouldn't manage it. Easy but not too easy was the way with pups.
Playing these sort of games was one of his favorite pastimes, and he was thrilled that Ashlar was finally able to partake. He couldn't wait until Liffey's we're old enough as well!
