her legs remained stiff even as he set her down, and suddenly, she was standing. the was very new and entirely exciting, and so she remained completely still. but it was certainly a lot for her developing legs to bear, and as soon as she stuck out a forelimb in what was almost her first step, the rest of her unruly legs crumbled, and she plopped to the ground. she yelled, but for the first time in her life, it was cut off by a wide grin that exposed a single, budding white tooth. the light and dark were starting to organize themselves into shapes with distinct lines and edges, and she had barely a moment to take this in before Verx crooned, low and raspy, and she stared at him. then she was crawling rapidly toward what she'd established as the shape the sounds come from, muzzle open in her own attempt at sound. something best describes as a drawn out, shouted grown emitted from her as her muzzle began to search for Verx's face, lacking the volume of her usual sounds but perhaps a little more hideous. she approached the edges of the shape and with a final lunge, sought to wrap her lethal gums (and single tooth) around his chin.
