Wapun Meadow i love you, i miss you; all these miles away

Times were hard for Lieke. She was all too aware of the lack of larger prey, which meant she was constantly on alert, even more so when she was without her wolf companion. Although she would never admit it, she appreciated security that came with being in her presence. But now, she was alone again, and she cautiously made her way through the snow covered meadow. She too was looking for something to ease her hunger. The lack of larger game meant that her prey of choice was hunted more and so she often had trouble filling her own belly. She weaved her way through the snow, dark eyes searching for any signs that a rabbit might be near while also keeping an eye out for any hungry predators that might be close by. 

It wasn't long before the scent of fox filled her nose, and she froze, eyes scanning the area for the source. She wanted to take off but first, she needed to know where the danger was; it wouldn't help to go running right into the jaws of the predator. She hunched down in the snow, hoping to remain hidden for long enough to determine the canid's position.
