It wasn't uncommon for the alabaster male to go roving in search of prey tracks in the vicinity of the pack, often staying with a day's journey of the mountain range so that his absence would not be mistaken for anything other than business as usual. With the coming of spring there came a new abundance in prey which had begun to travel back into their realm, which he was keen to observe and track.

It didn't surprise him at all to wander toward the dark, evergreen forest and find that others had been hunting in the area. It wasn't claimed, after all, and it had a great deal of hunting potential. He found the signs of a kill, as well as tracks belonging to a couple of wolves which, as far as he could tell, did not smell as though they belonged to a greater group. Interested to see if these wolves were settling in the area or simply hunting as they travelled, he followed the scent of the kill which had been dragged from its original location and into the forest.

He knew that there was a chance that this wasn't the best idea- two wolves together could be defensive over their kill, but for the most part, the wolves he had met in this area were all actually quite reasonable. So long as he did not overtly pose a threat, he felt he might be able to have a conversation with him. He preferred to believe that wolves, by default, were sane creatures, capable of logical reasoning.

So when he spotted a pale figure in the distance snacking away on a piece of meat, he approached with casual caution, relaxing his posture so she might get the impression at first glance that he was not interested in causing her stress.
