A woman’s voice sounded, drawing his golden ears to turn toward her, followed swiftly by his glittering gaze. The Taggerung immediately found admiration in her build, borrowed from both wolf and coyote. Perhaps they would find kinship in this.
As she addressed him, the bard was touched by the compliment.
Beautiful, she had said. It only took a moment for Tagg to realize that he wasn’t certain she had been speaking about him at all. It was far more likely she was referring to the glowing sparkbugs.
A performer’s bow followed the greeting and a smile painted his features. Their conversation did not last long, though. She was off, and so was the Taggerung to greater things.
