All Welcome
looking for some new interactions w/ packmates !! seeking hunters for this thread <3

it was stupid—twitch knows this, surely. there was no point to it. no reason her stomach should be in knots over it. he is bones in the dirt. he would tell her to move on, let it go. unfortunate for him that she was so sentimental.

twitch had been circling the outskirts since dawn, tracing the same path like she was afraid to step too far in any direction. habit more than caution.

the wind turns over everything but the thing she wants. only piss and some the stale scent of scavengers—she'd be comforted by the fact, had she had any other goal in mind. the girl puffs through her nose, displeased. “perfect. let’s just make this take all day, i don't mind,” she grumbled, picking her way along a narrow the trail. every few steps she dips her head to test the air again. still nothing.

Angel had done her best to seek out Ravah, but the other woman was never in the places that she looked. It almost felt as though the woman was avoiding her, though she was sure in her calmer moments that this was nothing more than paranoia.

Today, instead of Ravah, she came across someone more familiar. Angel had only vague memories of her from her time spent in fever and illness. Had she cared for her along with Ezra and Sega? Certainly she'd been around, and Angel was embarrassed not to know her name.

"Hello," she said as she caught up, her tail whisking in friendly greeting. "I hope you don't mind some company?"

Feel free to decide whether Twitch helped nurse her back to health or not! I think she returned possibly on the tail end of Angel's illness?

twitch stiffened before she turned, ears pricking at the sound of paws behind her. when she looks over her shoulder, she finds herself face to face with a girl she has not yet met—not officially.

even then, she remembers her. hard not to when you’d spent half a day hovering ten steps away like a useless ghost while others did all the real work. old habits die hard, she supposed.

"uh— yeah. sure. i'm twitch." it came out flat, awkward—about as good as she ever got with strangers. she slowed a little so angel could fall in beside her, eyes flicking back to the trail ahead like she could will a coyote into existence through sheer spite. no such luck.

"looking for a coyote." she added after a beat, like she owed the woman something more by way of explanation. "need a skull, but the border’s been quiet."

Twitch. The name was wholly unfamiliar to her, and she grew even more embarrassed. She assumed that this must be what the tone the other woman had taken was about, and forgave her for it at once. It was awkward to meet again like this, after she'd spent so much time being ill right in front of the woman.

Hopefully, she could show Twitch that weak and useless was not her default.

"Angel Oak," she replied, just in case Twitch didn't know her name, either. "What do you need it for?" she asked, not because she was confused, but because, "I have a fox skull," she clarified, "But it's got a hole knocked into the back."

She'd needed the brain, after all.

But even without an explanation, she was already lifting her nose into the breeze, lips curling to better take in the scents around them. No coyote — nothing fresh, at least.

"Maybe a little further out," she suggested, her ears twisting to the south. "I still hear them at night. That way." She tipped her nose vaguely southward.

“i remember you,” she said instead, glancing sidelong with a bit of a wince. straight to the point, she was—perhaps too much so. the woman offered an alternative, a fox skull, and her mouth twitches. it is not irritation so much as it is stubborn insistence. she could not be swayed, and so she shook her head.

“s' kinda personal. just need a coyote,” she reaffirms it without elaboration, non-negotiable. her nose follows angel's own, setting her eyes south. “oh,” she said, “okay. um—did you want to come with?”
sorry she's a weirdo lol

Personal?

Angel couldn't fathom what personal usage Twitch might get out of a coyote skull. But she supposed, in the next moment, that it must be some sort of women's magic, like Grandmother had told her about. She wanted quite badly to learn, but understood that it was a thing that needed to be offered to her, and not asked for.

"If that's alright," she said with a wag of her tail, now wondering if it was alright at all. "You can tell me when it's time for me to scram," she added, just in case that was a concern. "But I'm not doing anything right now."
