Through out the hunt the wolves had moved outside of her line of sight. Curious, Sart clung to the shadows of trees lingering around the perimeter of the chase. She could not keep up with them and once or twice she nearly lost up with the group completely before she found them again and ducked behind a tree so she would not be noticed or in the way.

Eventually the deer was taken. Sart caught up with them right as wolves first began to feed. She tucked herself beneath the shadows of a shrub and lingered there. She watched with wide eyes and parted jaws. She drooled, hungry.

It was a frenzy. The deer crashed to the ground in a heavy heap, but had yet to die. Saena began to tear into the ungulate as it desperately clung to life and Reek followed suit. Holding off would only be postponing the inevitable. He took his place beside his wife and began to dig in. He tore away at skin and sinew with a rabid fervor and the caracas snapped and popped with every bite.

Eventually, he had his fill. He turned to the subordinates, nodded, and put a few yards space between himself and the corpse. Once they had their fill, he would quarter the meat, and scavenge the remains for the coyote pups. If he brought them in now, there would be hell to pay at the paws of his wife— he was sure.

All right guys, I'm gonna archive this one on October 23rd! I think everyone's eligible for EXP but you can get a last post in if you want to!

Nochtli and Citali didn't move in, but Reek wasted no time. She almost—almost—snapped at him to warn him away with the suspicion that he was taking for his wretched pets, but she reminded herself that they were equals. He had as much right to the meat as she did, even if his coyotes didn't. So she chose to mainly ignore him while they ate and avoided eye contact when she finished.

She pulled away from the carcass, turned and headed for Nochtli and Citali to give them each amiable, grateful bumps. They could eat whatever they wanted now. The alpha female had hogged the best parts, of course, but she was a petite enough wolf and had also left quite a few good things behind. She didn't know if Reek would consume them before the pair of amazons got there. Part of her hoped not. They both deserved choice meat as well.

Ordinarily, Saena would've left at this point, but instead she lurked nearby to keep an eye on her mate. Not a single scrap of meat would be taken until both Nochtli and Citali had eaten what they wanted. After that, she would return to bring some of the leftovers to their caches, and the rest would go to scavengers. Regipre and Sart counted among those in Saena's eyes, so not until the amazons were finished would they get any of the kill. Her eyes lingered on Reek while the females ate as if to ensure this, and when she was satisfied that the real predators in the pack had finished, she departed, leaving her husband to the task of feeding his pests.

PP'ing Nochtli a bit.

Citali and her sister waited until the alpha pair had eaten. Their meal was healthy and plentiful. Considering the small number of those gathered, Citali wasn't the least bit concerned as to whether or not she would eat. It was only a matter of when. Eventually Saena got up and nudged them to let them know their time to eat had come. Slowly, Citali rose to her feet and when Reek had slipped away from the corpse, she and her sister slipped forward.

They too consumed what they so desired. The choice parts were picked over, but there was still plenty to go around. Considering neither of them were ever rank enough to enjoy the prime selection of group hunts, this was no different than other hunts. If they wished to dine on premium parts, they could catch small game of their own.

Alas, they filled themselves and when they were full they lingered to help restock caches before continuing about their day.

The wolfieses were eating and it smelled so good... With wide, hungry eyes Sart lingered in the grass. Her stomach growled. Her mouth drooled. She watched the wolves eat in something of a longing, dramatic sort of stare that suited her as she found herself automatically crawling forward through the grass and stopping before she got too close to anyone involved.

She began to whine, caught herself, then quieted.

But she wanted food. Reek would save her something right?

Sart fell over some kind of dramatically. The food. It was so far...
