All Welcome
Maybe @Kaylan or @Alaska Blu? :)

(@Floki - tagging for reference, as promised! <3)

Wildfire heaved a sigh into the cold, cloudy February air as her paw pressed against the still-warm carcass. She was unaware of the irony of slaying a groundhog on this particular day as she squinted across the whitewashed landscape and sighed again, more lightly this time. She removed her foot, then bent down and closed her jaws around the dead groundhog's shoulder. She lifted it, grunting slightly as she carried it toward a nearby cache to stash.

She wasn't often in a bad mood and the young Gamma didn't really know how to deal with it. After stowing the carcass, she once again froze, staring aimlessly off into the forest. She imagined Floki was even now marching around the borders, dutifully keeping an eye out for nonexistent trespassers while Wildfire hunted alone. She hadn't wanted to spend the day hunting; she had actually woken with itchy feet and an overwhelming desire to spend the day exploring with Floki.

But he had declined, regretfully, informing her that he had other things to do. More important things, Wildfire found herself thinking sullenly, only for her amber eyes to squint suddenly when she caught herself. She felt guilt curdling in her stomach, keeping company with the agitated resentment already residing there. Get a grip, she thought, shaking her head and turning to resume her hunting efforts. It was probably a good thing she was working alone today; she wouldn't want to subject anyone to this totally out of character moodiness of hers.

Alaska was touring the land on her own, trotting through the perfect blanket of snow and leaving her mark for the next few hours, until another blanket is placed on top. She hasn't had much communication with the other wolves in this pack, but she wasn't the most social wolf around. In fact, it didn't bother her the slightest if not every wolf in the pack didn't know her name. Even though it was a slightly smaller one than most.

She camouflaged perfectly in this atmosphere, versus the deep forest where she had a meeting with a dark wolf, her pelt giving her no concealment in such a dark area. Unlike Dash, the wolf she had encountered, who was so dark she almost walked past him when following his scent.

Speaking of bold coats, Alaska spotted a small red wolf standing out, quite remotely, in the whit canvas laid out by the winter. It was almost peculiar to see such a thing so different, and contrasting so strangly.

Older threads to catch up on yet, but I wanted to nab a more recent one, too. :)

Kaylan was slowly adjusting to pack life, though he continued to prefer the relative "safety" of the outskirts— it was easier there, at times, but just as often, it was painful. As badly as he wished to be reunited with his brothers, the white beast had yet to truly open up to them, to embrace them. He was changed, and all knew it— all wanted him to return to normal, but Kaylan did not know how to get there or if it even existed anymore.

He was pulled from his normal patrol route— a habit he had developed as much as to fill time as it was done out of necessity— by the scent of blood. It left a tart, metallic sting in his nose, and he followed it with an eagerness. It did not smell of wolf and neither was he hungry, but blood was something he knew. Something he did understand.

Kaylan slowed as he approached, taking in the sight of Freyja with his usual stoic silence. His posture adjusted to address their difference in station and acknowledge his respect for her. She had saved him at least once. The metallic scent still thick in his nostrils, the typically alert male did not notice the other female nearby (especially because she so seamlessly matched the landscape)— he simply watched Freyja for a signal to either join her or give her space.

Her sour mood was forgotten, however temporarily, when a chipmunk scuttled through the brush at her feet, prompting Wildfire to instinctively pounce. One petite paw struck the skittish rodent and her teeth followed, quickly crushing its tiny skull. Wildfire didn't hesitate before quickly bolting down the small catch. It all happened in one fast, fluid moment, and by the time she realized she wasn't alone, the meat was sliding into her stomach.

She licked her lips and looked up to incidentally catch Kaylan's eye. Wildfire blinked, ears pricking, as he came closer and shifted his posture. Her tail twitched slightly upward, the tip waving. Although she was still not feeling particularly social today, the fact that the pack's resident wildcard was coming to her was not an everyday occurrence. She wasn't going to scare him off by being an uncharacteristic bitch.

Likewise oblivious to their snowy white observer, Wildfire said softly, "Hi, Kaylan. How are you?"

Alaska seemed completely unnoticed, and tilted her head to the side in confusion. Had they not smelled her? It didn't bother her that she was unseen, but it was a little strange. Knowing that both of them were higher ranks than her, the snowy pelted female lowered her stance with respect and submission. Even though the two of them were oblivious to her presence, it was always better to be prepared. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, she spoke early in so it wouldn't be strange. Letting out a short bark, the white wolf moved herself a bit more in attempt to be seen.

She concluded that the two had already met, which was likely in the first place. So the other white wolf's name was Kaylan.

Sorry for the short reply!

It looks like @Kaylan's been removed. Since this thread is older (and I hope to use it toward a specialty), I'm going to PP him outta here so we can continue, @Alaska Blu. Hope that's OK with everyone! :)

Before he could answer her, someone barked nearby, causing Wildfire to start and Kaylan, well—he bolted. Wildfire blinked rapidly as he vanished into the trees, eyes shifting slowly toward the source of the noise. She spotted a petite white stranger loitering nearby and felt a bit like scolding her. But she hadn't done it on purpose, of course, and it wasn't really Wildfire's style to get angry. She sighed, wondering if she would ever be able to pin down Kaylan.

"Don't mind him," she found herself saying to the silvery-eyed stranger, "he sort of... spooks easily. And don't take it personally, either." Wildfire's silky black tail twitched as she turned to face the other she-wolf more directly. "We haven't met. I'm Wildfire."
