He wasn't surprised that she commented on his name. It was a very common thing for him to hear once he first gave his name. To his knowledge there was no specific reason for why he had been given his name, but he doubted it was because of any actions he had taken as a child. Though he did think her comment was lightly humorious and so he let out a soft chuckle, "Not any more then the average wolf I assume." he replied. He wished he howled more, not because he liked the act but because there was usually meaning for it. Often those in charge with something to say howled out to others, but he had no need for them in recent months.

Her next answer came as a bit of a shock to him, but brought a grin to his face. So she was looking for the company of another, that was something Howl could help her with. The scent of her heat causing him to gloss over the idea that this encounter might produce children, it was an after effect that didn't come to mind. 

"Well in that case..." he said as he began to cross over a shallower part of the stream. "it's a good thing I found you. We wouldn't want a beautiful lady like yourself falling into unworthy hands." she said in a playfully flirtasious manner and stood only meer feet from her. He could sense that she was hinting at him, but wanted to be sure that this was what she wanted from him before being so direct in his actions.
