she was not comfortable in this den.  even with olive and terance at her side, sharing the space with rannoch and liffey was... uncomfortable, to say the least.  she was still convinced that the alpha's wife didn't like her.  they had not had a single conversation since they had arrived on the mountain.  and to think, once, she had wanted liffey to like her.  she thought they could've been friends.

so she spent her time pacing and wearing herself down.  terance was gone a lot.  he was working so hard, always on patrol, that when he came in and settled down next to them it was always some kind of relief.

she rested her head alongside terance's back (where she often massaged it with her gentle teeth and paws, where the tension collected between his shoulders) and closed her eyes, a ghost of a smile on her lips.

how apt that this was the story he would tell, the one he had wooed their mother with.
