Stavanger Bay Don't give up. Great things take time.

All welcome. This thread marks the start of her heat.  

As night fell over the bay area, the sea patted the sand with much force as the wind was still unforgiving. It was still as cold as could be as the blackened wolfdog walked beside the water. Cherry eyes set sight on the moon rays that were shining off the perfectly glittering water. Elixir stopped for a moment to take it all in, it was so peaceful. It was everything she could have asked for in a home for the winter. A deep breath in as she closed her eyes, let her become one with the water and the moon. There was a connection felt deep inside her heart. It felt right to be here, like it was where she was supposed to be for the time being.

Elixir took another deep breath and opened her eyes back up. Pleased with how she felt she decided to move on from the water. The grass was waving like it was inviting her to come be with it instead. She developed a small smile before frolicking in the grass with a small chuckle. The stars guided her way as they shined down and hit the ground. What a wonderful night, she thought as she took a seat in a bare spot with just dirt. The cool ground sent a chill through her body as she cuddled up. As she lay there with her eyes glued to the sky, she felt a weird feeling come over her. It felt like she was sick but not and closed her eyes as she thought a nap could cure whatever was wrong with her.

he is stargazing when the scent reaches him, alien and saccharine yet familiar somehow. his golden features twist into a frown as he's drawn from his contemplation, rising almost before he realizes what he's doing. instinct beckons him forward, and he trails the scent slowly, intrigued but reluctant for reasons he cannot name. he knows this scent; he knows what it means, yet the knowledge lingers just out of reach, coiled at the back of his mind.
it does not dawn on him until he sights the dark figure, ears pulling forward as he comes to a halt with a soft chuff some distance off. heat. the season for children is upon them, and the obsidian wolf whose scent he has trailed is fertile. uncertainty floods him, and he lingers at a distance, reluctant to simply walk away after approaching but uncertain whether his presence will be welcome. his intentions are not ill, but he cannot tell her that.

Soon the wolfdog is awakened by the sound of another nearby. Sleepily her eyes open and she stretches out to touch the soft green arms of the earth. It took a moment but she smelled it . It was that time of year and she was embarrassed for it to be so soon after she had joined them. The girl couldn't let it get to her right then as she had to greet the man who lingered there near here. It wasn't a surprise that she didn't know who he was so she smiled sweetly and stood up to face him. Oh yeah you probably ought to say your name and hello or just something Elixir what are you doing?, she thought as she still smiled and stared like a creeper.

"Hello sir. My name is Elixir" she refrained from swishing her tail as the scent was strong now but would be even stronger if she did so. In her head she wanted to step closer and make contact with him but knew that would be too rude for their first meeting. The wolfdog blinked her eyes innocently and then returned the smile to her face. The burning desire to do what nature wanted was hard to resist. A paw was put forward but only that one as she looked down at it and then to the man in front of her. Her heart thumped hard in her chest as if it was a beating drum.

he hadn't realized the prone form had been asleep, though it dawns on him quickly as she stirs and stretches out. as the girl unfurls, he notes that her features are distinctly un-wolflike, yet pleasant to the eye. she seems unperturbed by his presence, even offering a smile as she stands to face him, though for several moments no greeting follows. his head tilts slightly, and a breath later she finally speaks, introducing herself with an innocent blink and another smile.
he dips his head in greeting, thinking that elixir is a pretty name — almost as pretty as the girl herself. he takes a few tentative steps closer, moving to settle at her side if she allows it. some part of him remains aware of the way the heat-scent clouds his mind, and that part keeps him from moving any closer, from touching her, but his self-control is not infallible. he offers his own gentle smile, hoping to catch her gaze before glancing skyward with a pointed gesture toward the stars — an invitation. he looks back to her with a hopeful expression, not entirely certain she'll catch his unspoken question; watch the stars with me?

For a moment her heart stops the thumping and stands still. She held her breath as he came a bit closer, this was all so new to her. The air flowed through her again only as he took a seat beside her, the smile still glued on her features. Elixir moves to a better position and looks up when he does. His smile caught her eyes and she looked down shyly, a small giggle escaping her throat. I'll look at the stars with you. That's one of my favorite past times. her voice was quiet but still appealing.

This man piqued her interest. It seemed he was a good one, he didn't come to ravage her like it seemed most would but rather be in her company. It was quite the attraction and his looks were just a bonus. She had to push out the way her mind was thinking and enjoy the presence of this wolf that she had just met. A small but happy sigh came from her and then she looked up at the stars. What an amazing thing to witness..., she admired them so much, everything was dark around them but somehow they found the confidence to light it up.

his own pulse quickens at the sound of her giggle, ears flushing a little. her answer brightens his smile and sends his tail swishing across the ground behind him; it seems such a lovely coincidence that the inky girl enjoys the stars as much as he does. he forces his gaze away from her and toward the sky again, as captivated by the sparkling canopy of stars as the wolf beside him. he chuffs after a few moments, gesturing toward one of his favorite groups of stars. his gaze drifts back to her despite himself, searching her features. he can't help but think that he hopes his silent company is not a burden; he knows it can be difficult sometimes.

For a moment it was silent between them, but she didn't mind too much as her eyes were glued to the twinkling lights of the sky. The swaying of his tail didn't even bother her gazing. The chuff made her attention draw to him. She followed his motion to look up at the group of stars. She knew these!! The big dipper! she chirped in an instant. Apologetically she looked at him and then back up, Sorry, it was one of the first ones that I learned about when I became interested in the stars. .

After her words stopped she shifted slightly and then moved a bit closer to him. Are you fond of the moon?, the wolfdog was quite fond of it herself as it was the brightest 'star' in the sky. It was also one of the most unappreciated things amongst people she had talked to before, which made her love it even more. The night couldn't get much better.. her thoughts running.

his smile broadens slightly at her small outburst; to see her so passionate about it fills his chest with a strange, bubbling sort of warmth. that he's gaining knowledge at the same time makes the feeling even more enjoyable. he wishes he could assure her that her excitement is no burden, but he'll have to hope that his obvious enchantment is enough. the heat in his ears spreads to his cheeks as she moves closer, and he finds himself leaning in slightly. a soft breath escapes him when his fur brushes hers. he finds it takes all of his willpower to concentrate on her words, still all too aware of the fresh heat-scent surrounding her. it's intoxicating at this proximity. he nods in response to her question, casting a brief glance toward the moon; by now, though, elixir has taken most of his attention.

Her look had returned to the moon when she felt him move closer too. Sentinel's fur brushed against hers and it sent a chill down her spine, most likely unnoticeable to him but to her it was like an electric shock inside her body. This feeling was like no other she had felt before. Her body was hot and all she wanted to do was not look at the stars but flirt with Sentinel? It definitely wasn't like her.. but her eyes wondered from the stars and gazed at him with a few 'im so innocent' blinks.

For a moment she hesitated but then she stood up and circled him once her tail brushing his flank on each side... and then a second, this time her tail brushing under his chin as she peeked back to see what his reaction was. Her face was playful now. Her breath slowed as she came to his face and met her cherry eyes with his silver ones.

he watches her gaze return to him, tail still swishing as their eyes meet for several moments. it startles him slightly when she rises abruptly, and he watches with wide eyes as she circles around him. the feeling of her tail brushing against his fur sends a shiver down his spine and he goes perfectly still as she draws to a halt with her eyes locked to his, electrified and apprehensive in equal measures. he's uncertain how far this will go if he reciprocates, and there are consequences for this type of encounter. and while imagining things such as children and fatherhood sends a bolt of longing through his chest, he could not disrespect ford and his family that way. he swallows, reaching forward to brush his nose along her jaw gently but making no move to stand.

For a moment she watched as he was still, like well...a rock would suffice as the answer. A rock with eyes just staring into her soul it felt like. The wolfdog started to feel as if maybe she had made a mistake because he was so still... so quiet. If she could she would be sweaty and have pit stains the size of softballs. Then he extended his head and ran his nose along her jaw line, her eyes slowly closed.

It wasn't like her to do any of this, flirt or want him to want to flirt back or maybe even more but it just wasn't what she felt was herself. Her heat had really taken her over, mind and body. Poor Elixir.

Slowly her eyes opened, twinkling at the sight of him. She's truly wooed. A sly smile curled on her lips as she extended her own head, running her nose from his jaw line to his ear. A small whimper left her throat as she felt a heat wave in her body. Something was coming over her and whatever it was she couldn't contain it, not even if she wanted to.

a soft breath escapes him as elixir runs her nose through his fur and he shivers again at her whimper, mind fogged. he leans closer, pressing his muzzle against her neck softly and lingering for a few moments. her warmth seems to spread through him, an unfamiliar and almost uncomfortable feeling in its intensity. he gestures for her to lay with him again as he draws away, determined not to allow her heat to lead either of them to hasty decisions. he's content to enjoy her company and affection for as long as she offers it; for both their sake, it can go no further.

Elixir lets out a quiet giggle as he lingered after pushing his muzzle to her neck. She was so caught up in this, she wasn't sure how it would end. The wolfdog inhaled deeply and then she slowly let it out. Still her mind was cluttered with what the good nature wanted her to do. I'm...I'm so sorry her voice was quiet, a feeling of embarrassment was spilled over her. She hoped that he didn't perceive her as too pushy or what not, she loved his presence because it was something different.

I hope you'll forgive me the question spilled before she could think about if she needed to ask for forgiveness. The motion to lay with him was accepted as she lowered her body down next him. Her fur was barely touching his, not knowing if she could touch him much more without actually going crazy.

his ears fold slightly for a moment at her apology. he wishes he could reassure her somehow, tell her that her feelings are normal. he settles for leaning against her instead, pressing his thick coat to her side and settling into a more comfortable position. it would be easy to sleep this way, perhaps, were it not for elixir's heat-scent keeping him wide awake. there will be no sleep for him tonight, but he's content with the trade-off; he can't remember the last time he'd enjoyed anyone's company so much, and he's certain it has little to do with her heat.

Elixir felt safe as she laid with him and the longer she had it was more so. Slowly her eyelids crept over her eyes and she breathed softly. Her dreams would come soon enough but she wasn't so sure that they would be as good as what she had experienced tonight, the company of an intriguing man.
