Most of the wolves from Tartok had rudimentary medical training but Tulimaq was not equipped to really help himself if something were to go terribly wrong. He kept his wound from becoming infected and that was all he could manage, and it would've been enough had he been in combat. It was healing at a good pace, but the gouge would leave a permanent scar because of his lack of knowledge.
