the man's constant affection keeps him on his toes to an extent; it's difficult to relax fully with their proximity, tempted as he is to abandon their journey now and lose himself in the other's embrace. his companion's question comes just as something catches his eye, and he pauses a moment before offering his answer. "ronnie," he murmurs, turning fathomless black eyes on the other for a beat. "yours?"
he does not wait for a response, instead gesturing for the man to follow him as he starts toward the entrance of what appears to be a small cavern in the mountainside. there are strange scents surrounding it, animals he's never scented before, but they are all faded; the spot has been abandoned, it seems. his hackles prickle slightly as he registers a faint rustling from a distance, gaze finding nothing as he turns briefly to search for the source. suddenly paranoid, he takes a step into the cavern, eager to assure himself of its relative safety and retreat from the eerie quiet of the grotto.
