It was an adjustment, to be sure. Minerva knew that her people oft made homes in places that would not allow for communion with the sea, as there were different branches across the islands who put the land to good use, but she had always had that connection. It was an important aspect of her own faith. Although the Mother had pushed for her to leave Her side, Minerva could not help but yearn for a reunion and all that such a moment would entail. The woman missed so much while she was here upon the plateau; but she was being forced to adapt and broaden her mind, and so she would do so.

She had yet to meet many of the wolves here; her time had been split between conversations with Rosalyn and a proper effort to avoid most of the menfolk, of which there appeared to be few. The heart of the territory was a curious thing: reeking of wolves yet visibly barren, with spire-like trees growing all over the place, except for a few clear spots with which she could watch the stars at night or entertain herself by watching the falling snow. Minerva had been present here for only a few days but she had managed to catch a glimpse of a few wolves now - many doing patrols, or at one instance a pair of sisters harassing some of the children. She did not intervene.

The woman continued her preusal of the forest the next day, and was met by the sounds of claws upon stone. A dark shape - lined with gilded silver much the same as herself or Ostia - was busying themselves with laps. Minerva was silent as she watched the stranger move, not wanting to get involved at first. She seemed preoccupied - or bored, or both - and speaking at the wrong time could have caused them to lose focus or harm themselves. When their pace slowed and they were just beginning an about-face, Minerva stepped in to their line of sight, her own coat glimmering as the winter sun caught upon it.
