@Liliana - sorry i'm late getting to this, can be present dated or backdated if needed!

it was so cold.

like nothing he'd ever experienced, it had been difficult to believe mama's tales of winter and its frigid claws, sprinkling the world in solid, frozen rain; killing off lush vegetation and robbing it to leave trees naked and bare; and it being so cold that your very breath was visible- of course that had been hard to believe when lounging in the sun's hazy glow during long summer days.

today the boy lingered on the pack's borders, certain that his mama would likely chide him should she discover his whereabouts but unable to resist the frequent tug that drew him to the edge of the gloom's domain to overlook the rolling lands of scintillating light, again and again. a shoulder leaned against the chilled bark of one of the large trees standing sentry at neverwinter's edge, wide look greedily devouring what lay before him. it was early morning, the glare of the sun only just starting to cast the land in a wince inducing glow; but the grass--

it rolled away until mist shrouded mountains clambered towards that dusty sky and it sparkled. flashing and coruscating as frost laden blades caught ahold of the sun's each and every ray, mist performing some frivolous dance where it bustled above the earth. it was...beautiful. eyes narrowed in distrust, pressing closer against the tree and its secure cloak of gloom despite an undeniable buzz to small paws attempting to coax him forth...draw him from the safety of home and its murmuring shadows that assured his position as the top predator, wanting to lure him forth to where he was exposed and vulnerable to whatever had killed cupid as if he were a mouse and left his dad crying and useless.

finín swallowed.
