She felt their presence before they growled, but Selena had all but turned to stone. She felt a snap tease at her hindquarters, remedying her state of shock and sending her scurrying out from under her coverage.
She turned to face the large wraith, avoiding eye contact in an attempt to look as threatening as an inanimate object. The girl hummed in a questioning way to the stranger, wondering what he would have her do. Should she run? Where was her protector? Was she not instructed to stay in this area?
"I don't want trouble." She couldn't think of anything else to say, but this seemed like a good starting point. She wondered if this wolf spoke or was silent like the other.
