All Welcome
if there is one thing that Iseul is good at, it's food prep. whether it's skinning snakes and leaving the scales to dry and make chips, or filleting her rainbow trout into beautiful sashimi, or just having her roots and fruits stored away underground, the girl has a thing for taste.

with her most recent discovery of the blackberry bush, upon some others that she has yet to try, she has decided to make another onggi (or just dark hole in the ground covered to retain moisture). traditionally, they are used for fermenting things, mostly cabbages and other wild plants in order to preserve them for storage. preparation of the contents going into the onggi is a family-affair and often required the help of many. of course, with Iseul being alone in this practice, it means that she's a bit limited with how much she's able to prepare by herself.

she found dandelions and other healthy greens to fill this first onggi once they began to grow during the middle part of spring. that onggi remained at the bottom of the sinkhole that marked itself in the middle of the isle. she would certainly need to be checked in on, as the fermentation process should already be knee deep in breaking down the starches of the plant. in the newest onggi that she's digging closer to the eastern side, Iseul intends to make fermented fruit with the ripe berries that she's collected in a neat little pile next to her. it should make for half decent and flavorful maeshilju, a sweet plum wine [though this time made with berries.]

Iseul hums to herself an old song her mother would sing while they all worked together. in a way, it reminds her of home and keeps her grounded to her traditions, despite how foreign they are in the isle. perhaps she would come to teach this food preservation process to Ines and Matteo, if they ever came around to the idea.
Iseul is still learning English and will frequently pause to find the right word. This often occurs with an audible 'uh' or 'ah' sound, as well as speaking a bit slower to try and avoid mistakes. Your character is welcome to notice this!
