Joining
@Iseul !! and maybe perhaps @Gun or @Colt for funsies?<333

The first thing Boone noticed about this place was that it was mucky. One big, giant bog; he wasn't quite sure where one river started and another ended. Low hanging trees, lots of small birds and reptiles. A long way from Mount Chesney, he'd guess; far enough away, at least. Quite the adjustment for a mountain man to make, but it was a good enough place to take a rest and lay low.
Restless, he was, and well-worn by travel; wasn't no easy journey to make it this far north. Hungry, exhausted, and mud covered — all four heavy limbs painted in brown flecks, stretching up to coat his underside. And as his nose bent downward to touch the grass, he caught it.
There was a pack here. And maybe, just maybe, they'd take pity on him. Not that he needed it.
But when he took a good look at himself, bringing his eyes back to the grizzled chest between two broad shoulders; goddamn, he was downright pitiful. And so his decision was made. Closer to the border he draws, all but trudging, before he stops to shake out the riverwater. All he had to do now was hope someone would notice his presence before he had to make a scene.

it just seemed like the once quiet river dweller was now finding herself in bed of snakes.

but she must choke down the inadequacy she feels with purpose and work. and the scent of another stranger brings about a sense of worry and yet misdirected annoyance. colt had come here on his belly begging for a home, and now it feels as if he is pulling a rug out from underneath her. the bulgae and redbird have yet to prove their respect of Iseul letting them into her home with children present. and in a way, she fears this may have been a mistake. a grave mistake that she may pay for later.

ady and ulrich put faith in her for a reason, she must remind herself of this constantly. if she did not show some form of value, they would have never let Ines and Matteo stay here with her. she must find her confidence. and so, when she comes to see a tall man at the edge, she brings an air of pride. he is bigger and stronger than anything she's seen, and while it causes her scary thoughts, she shakes them away. her tail comes to arch over her back and she watches him closely with a suspicious glint in her jade eyes.

"This is Two Rivers Isle. who you?" her tone is clear though it lacks any sharpness. it would be unfair to lay her anger into a random stranger, after all. she is better than that, she knows this and tells herself.
Iseul is still learning English and will frequently pause to find the right word. This often occurs with an audible 'uh' or 'ah' sound, as well as speaking a bit slower to try and avoid mistakes. Your character is welcome to notice this!

He'd spent a good while standing there with a tap to his foot before a rustle in the brush was heard and a small woman appears, a puff to her chest. The sight of her brings an instant polite grin to his face, stretching up to dimple the corners of his eyes.
Two Rivers Isle, she says. A nice enough ring to it.
Oh, pardon me, ma'am, his accent is strong, gruff; and, uh, pardon my appearance. Hope I didn't startle you none. Sheepishly, he lowers his head, shuffling in order to create space between him and the arbitrary line that had been drawn in the dirt. She is apprehensive, and though he often forgets about his boar-like size, he is not amiss to the signs of frightening someone. Bunching himself up, he makes himself smaller with flattened ears and a low hanging tail. I mean you no harm.

he didn't give her a name, but what he does give her is more than enough to disarm her.

and while she may not catch the meaning of every word he says, she does manage to get the message. he is no threat to her, the offering wrapped up in a pretty ribbon with his little show of respect. a shifty gaze comes to soften on his figure and now the woman comes to stride forward just a little so she could get a better close over this stranger.

and certainly, she could not deny that he's pleasing to look at.

she comes to ask her question again, though this time she ensures to make her own voice come off more welcoming than before. "who you?" she preferred to know names before she has to come up with her own. "and why so near isle?" the fact that he didn't splish-splash around on claimed waterways is another point in her book.

She moves forward, he stays still. This was her land; she held virtue over her own body. A polite thing, with an accent he couldn't quite recognize and irises of evergreen that bore into him with fervor. Well, now he was just  embarrassed.  What a wonderful first impression to make on a fine little lady, disheveled and windswept as he was.
Boone, is his answer when he's asked his name, a charming tilt of his head to the side. I come from a little ol' holler far south a' here. Was lookin' to move, and a little birdie told me of a place called Teekon. This here isle happened to be what I stumbled upon. Not a bad home you got on your hands, his gaze pans around at the thick woodlands that cover the lands, the sound of the river closely within earshot.
He shuffles, readjusting his footing before easing down into a sit. And who might you be, miss?

boone?

"boo-ne." finally someone has a name that actually flows with Iseul's own tongue, and she must do her best to fight off the habit of adding on an extra honorific to it. she looks to him to see if she says it properly as she watches him settle.

he speaks of his home, and he also seems convinced birds can talk to him? that actually sounds really cool to Iseul, despite the fact that she most likely did not catch this to be a sort of metaphor. she'd most likely come to ask him later what else the birds say, and Boone would have to do his best not to laugh at her.

a pink tongue comes to run across her teeth. "Iseul," she comes to say, "leader of Isle." her words are not soaked with power, but perhaps Boone is not someone who needs constant evidence of such trivial things. "does Boone need home?" it is perhaps the most common reason that strangers find themselves coming so near, except for the few who just happen to be traveling; those are rare to say the least. and besides, he's impressed her enough with just his ability to speak kindly to grant himself an invitation in.

Iseul? Eeeee-suuuuul. He repeats it in his mind before he says it back to her. Iseul! It comes out as if he'd known her for years, followed by a chortle. Pleasure's mine, then, Miss Iseul.
She is the leader of said Isle pack, and unassuming as she may look, he believed it. She handled his arrival with tactfulness and grace, and that alone was enough to earn his respect. He was a man of manners, if nothing else.
A home, he's offered, and he has to think on it. Could be nice, if you'd be gracious enough, he comments, a glint to his eye as the mid-evening dayglow paints the pair a glistening tangerine. what's it like here? What kinda folks you got?

it is a big question, one that iseul does not have a truthful and honest answer for. in her mind, she runs the group to have honest morals and follow the rules that Ady and Ulrich had carved in stone for her and the others to follow. but had she the ability to read that her trust is being placed in a shady spot, then perhaps Iseul would know the truth of the small coup that could arise any minute.

his successful copy of her name brings about an excited wag to her plume behind her. and she decides to say what she knows, or more so expects from the others who live here. "Isle has others, Colt and–" she would say friends, but they were not hers, "–colt's friends. and young, Ines and Matteo."

"Isle has rules. no fight, no steal, no lies. trouble is, ah... not good for isle." they are 3 simple ways to keep life afloat here on peaceful terms. but other than that, this is it. Ulrich has laid the foundation, and now Iseul must do her best to keep the rules upstanding, despite the fact that she's let a bunch of outlaws crash her, unknowingly.

"can Boone... do that?" so long as she has his word, Iseul sees no reason to not allow for this man to join the ranks.

No fight, no steal, no lies. Colt and friends — whoever the hell Colt was — and two puppies. A simple life, it seemed, and Iseul was definitely nice enough.
But the way she says Colt's friends, trouble is not good for Isle; implies something greater than a peaceful life. There is stress behind it, a twinge of something he can't quite put a note on. And truly, it's sympathetic; if she's all alone in leadership, especially with two little boogers running around, she could benefit from some extra hands, right?
At this point, it was more for the accented lady with the forest eyes than for himself. Though he certainly wouldn't complain about settling down for a bit, either.
If you'll have me, he flashes a cheeky little grin, teeth poking out from blackened lips, then raises a paw and presses it to his chest. Boone sure can do that, Miss Iseul. So long as you've got clean waterways for 'im to rinse off.

she may never know how quick Boone is to know that something lay underneath the surface. and for whatever he chooses to look for and discover, Iseul would remain quiet on the sidelines and hopefully come to pick up the slang of the gang sooner than later. and perhaps Boone would become her newest set of ears.

though, Iseul is not mischievous, just worried.

upon his words, Iseul would come to offer the man a respectful bow of the head. he has earned her trust, now it is just a matter of what he will do with it. she comes to sidestep, opening for a man to cross the imaginary line to enter his home. "many places for bath," she comes to tell him, "follow Iseul, will show Boone." she would come to lead him to the spots that she knows best.

can keep going or archive, whichever you prefer! either way, welcome to the isle <3

thank you!!! i'm happy to finally get a character over here!! will fade here and continue in another thread? <3
And Boone shall indeed, the weight off his shoulders at the prospect of a bath is unimaginable. He's eager to follow behind, sure to keep his pace slow lest he outrun her. She is the guide, and he the simple trainee. Lumbering, slow steps, nostrils flared as his surroundings envelop him like a warm shot of whiskey.
And quietly, in his mind's eye, he praises God; wander no more, he's becoming a family man!
If only he knew what he was getting into.
