S'ari lay, ill and feverish, only half aware of her surroundings.

Candle sat by S'ari, ever diligent. She knew that she was unwell, that she would not understand what Candle meant to tell her even if she had been. As far as she knew, S'ari had not learned Zoug's language as she had. But she told her nonetheless.

Children soon, She told her. Zoug. Her ears turned warm with the acknowledgement. And you. Candle hoped, at least, that S'ari would be by her side in this. But even if she did not want to be involved, the priestess knew that she had Zoug. That was enough.

She felt hopeful for their future.

Children...

Zoug...

Zoug had become a father? It was not the right time of year.

S'ari moaned incoherently and shifted in her sleep.

Candle lapsed into silence after that, watching over S'ari faithfully. It was clear she understood nothing that the priestess said. But that was alright. Soon she would return to them, and then she would hear all of it. Hopefully from someone with more of the common language than Candle could grasp!
