Burke slowly grinned at the smart-ass comment. The female was right though. He couldn't defend his lands from here. But there were other crazy ones in his pack. They made sure no one got in. "I am a practicing outrider," she smirked a bit. He also wanted a change of scenery. Maybe meet some new wolves, spread rumors about Black feather to make them stay away. Burke would probably be the right guy to spread such words. He wasn't afraid of killing. Soon he would be joining the brotherhood. He would have the red mark on his shoulder.

He could easily focus on being a warden but he didn't want that. He liked to have different trades than he had before. Except for being a warrior that one was still useful. Especially with their rivalry against SC.

"Tired of fighting the bad guys?" Osprey asked after a little pause, because of being at loss, what to say next for a second. The conversation had suddenly turned into a more routine one, going around the names, trades, packs, family members etc., etc. - all the boring and usual stuff she didn't want to discuss with this fellow. It occurred to her that she still hadn't told him her name and she decided not to tell it either. It was quite possible that with all the lies and playing the noble one, Burke wasn't his real name either. And in the end - did it really matter? After this she would probably not see this wolf ever again.

"Or are you keeping the good guys out?" she added. With his looks everything was possible.

Burke thought about her words for a brief moment. The brute never thought about the wolves being bad or good. He didn't care if they were good or bad natured. He wanted them off their lawn. The large male raised his tail at the thought, along with his head. He slowly shook it from left tot right in a slow calm manner. "Neither of the two," he returned. "One doesn't care if one is a good natured or bad. Anyone who isn't in our closest circle is not tolerated. They might be evil geniuses or deranged ones we have in the pack ourselves. Still. If they have not politely knocked on our door for permission to join they are intruders."

The pale blue eyed male casted his eyes to the smaller female. He would never be tired of fighting. He could achieve his Outrider trade inside the borders of Black Feather Woods. "Nor do I see wolves as good or bad. No one is entirely pure hearted. There is always some grey," he pointed out.

"Like we are..." Osprey finished his epiphany, feeling a little impressed by such depth of thought. Burke seemed a bit simple-minded, but even rough and plain rocks on the outside could have a shiny gem inside. She cast a glance around - the moose was long gone. There was a slight chance that she would catch up with it again, but it was an idea worth discussing. Ever since her return from her lengthy wanderings (both in terms of time and distance), she had not felt the need to go too far away from the plateau.

"Very well..." she said, getting up to her feet (she had sat down, while crying - it was a lot easier to look miserable, if you were sitting) and stretching thoroughly. "It was nice to have a chat with you, remembering good old times and whatever and I hope that we never see each other again," she said with a smirk. Even though it had been quite refreshing to be nasty and sarcastic for a change. Better even because the other party didn't mind.

"Farewell, Prince Charming!" Osprey said and without waiting to hear, what Burke had to say, she left.

ooc: a great thread - thank you for that! Burke is a great character and - despite, what Osprey just said - I hope that they happen to run in each other again someday.

Definitely! They have an interesting dynamic!

Burke squinted his eyes a bit when the female just brushed off his words and bid him farewell. He just just getting along with this conversation. The male had not been sitting down while the female sat across from him. "Goodbye Princess," he returned with a grunt in his tone. He went into the other direction as her, back to his home. It was surprisingly interesting what just developed. Maybe there were some females worth of a conversation. Burke ought to remember that.

The female unpleasantries did not do much to him. He had a thick coat and was used to the insults. His charming side shed of his as he walked further away from the female turning back into his grumpy self as he traveled as slow speed.
