His parents split up before he was born, so Relonikiv and his siblings grew up in their mother's pack. When they were nearly eight weeks old, both Paarthurnax and Durnehviir vanished abruptly, leaving signs of foul play at the den. The pack's Alpha took the pups under his wing, where Relonikiv—far too young to truly comprehend what had happened—was happy to stay. Unfortunately, Trajan didn't feel the same way and chose to go live with their father. Relonikiv and Julius remained close to Scimitar even when their mother and sister returned a month later. Slightly more whole again, the family relocated together to Nova Peak. Shortly after the pack's founding, Paarthurnax took her children to visit their father and brother and never returned. Unbeknownst to anyone back home, Julius and Relonikiv became separated on the way back, giving Paarthurnax no choice but to take Durnehviir and go after them. Meanwhile, the two waylaid brothers crossed paths with a small but feral pack who more or less kidnapped the pups. Julius managed to escape after a few days but Relonikiv wasn't able to give them the slip. He was forcibly integrated, though when he reached six months of age, the Alphas gave birth to a litter and chased Relonikiv out of the pack.
