Thorsten ruled the lands of Aldhaven justly, and for many years, alongside his warrior-bride, Kriemhilde. But they were bereft, for they could not conceive an heir. When they finally did, it was with a heavy heart; their children were born sickly, save for the boy child that they had wished so desperately for. He grew like a weed alongside his sisters - who, for the most part, survived - and was doted upon by the pack. But he did not want the attention, nor the tutoring. The boy was flippant in his duties, aloof and uncaring, while his sisters (beloved as they are) spurned him out of jealousy; they were warrior-bred just like young Anselm, but it was Anselm which garnered all the attention from their parents. When it came time for him to assume a more prominent role in the pack, Anselm refused. He went so far as to abandon Aldhaven entirely, much to the glee of his wicked sisters.
