Kateri's tale begins in the rainy forests of Michigan where she was born into a small grouping of families rather than an established pack. These groups were tight knit and hard to join unless one spoke for you. They shared everything: land, hunting spoils, even their children. It wasn't uncommon to marry the daughter of so-and-so off to a friend's son to strengthen alliances.

Such was to be Kateri's fate, if she could survive her insufferable family. Kateri's father, and the other men and boys if the group, believed firmly in the ideal that women were objects. Kateri was nothing more than a means of peace treaty since the day she was born. Her mother was not much better, she had been beaten into submission long ago.

Kateri was harder to rangle, she was not a perfect child as her older brother nor did she fall meek into her father's grasp as her older sister did. Kateri fought against her fate and her community's reins with everything she had. But it wasn't good enough.

Kateri was betrothed to young and snotty son of her father's friend before her first birthday, a horrible thing to behold. The boy was not only a behemoth with a temper a mile long, he too followed her father's doctrine.

Kateri did the only sensible thing that could be done: she commited the worst act a wolf could in her society. She attacked her husband. Kateri was small and he was not, it was the classic case of Goliath that led her to blind her would-be husband. Shortly after, Kateri fled and never looked backwards.

It has been several months since her departure and now Kateri has come across Teekon Wilds where her destiny awaits.
