Flawlessly black, Haunter is a handsomely-crafted wolf whose imposing build has been conditioned heavily by an increasingly harsh upbringing. His height is easily more pronounced than his weight, his legs like stilts, giving him a lanky stagger, and his extremities strong and tapered. He is slenderly muscular on all accounts, but when food is scarce he becomes a shaggy, lean skeleton more severe and more terrifying than when he appears fit. Since he was two and wild of will, Haunt has sported only his left ear, the right (save for a tuft) having been lost in a vicious fight. Also, his left foreleg has exposed scar tissue where a set of teeth had been years before, and more recent claw marks on his right shoulder from a cougar.
